FAQ
With some exceptions, conference presentations last anything from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours (including questions); after dinner speeches from 20 to 40 minutes and performances from 10 to 30 minutes. Most speakers and performers are able to work to your brief, to be agreed in advance. Paradoxically, with speakers and comedians, it is not a case of the longer the performance, the more value you get for your money.
The booking process begins by Inspiring-Speaker ‘pencilling’ in the speaker, presenter or performer you have expressed an interest in. Once you decide to go ahead, you will be asked to sign a Booking Agreement authorising Inspiring-Speaker to make a formal offer on your behalf. When this is accepted and the signature is received, Inspiring-Speaker will then send you a signed contract. At this point the booking is secure, subject to the terms of the contract.
Optimally, events are planned 6-12 months in advance. In theory there is no limit to how far in advance you can book, providing the other party is prepared and in a position to make a commitment. In practice, more than two thirds of bookings are made within 6 months of the engagement.
At Inspiring-Speaker, we are pleased to boast an extremely low cancellation rate among our speakers. When the occasional cancellation does occur, it is generally attributed to something that is out of both Inspiring-Speaker’s and the speaker’s control – such as a sudden emergency or unforeseen circumstance. We have a thorough process in place when planning engagements that ensures coordination with our speakers’ schedules to minimise the risk of issues and cancellations.
In the highly unlikely case that an emergency does arise and a speaker must cancel, we will work with you to find an appropriate replacement. Our worldwide network of speakers offers countless options in the case of an emergency, and our 24/7 staff is more than ready to handle any last minute complications.
