Ranga Yogeshwar spent most of his childhood in India where he also went to primary school. Later he completed his A level studies in Luxembourg.

Ranga studied experimental particle physics and astrophysics and holds a degree as dipl.physicist from Aachen University. He worked for the Swiss Institute for Nuclear Research (SIN), at the CERN in Geneva as well as for the Forschungszentrum Jülich/Germany.

In 1987 Ranga started working as an editor for the Westdeutschen Rundfunk in Cologne/Germany, and later became head of the TV-science department.

Since 2008 he has been working as an independent journalist and author.

He is a board member of several research institutes such as Max Planck Institutes and Deutsches Museum München and founder of various science initiatives.

Ranga is one of the most popular science journalists in Germany. His books are bestsellers and have been translated into many languages.
